Blair’s December newsletter is up, and it’s quite possibly the most cryptic one yet. I can’t really make much sense of it, though it does suggest that something may be going on sale on the 17th of January, possibly a live DVD, though I’d say that’s somewhat unlikely. Could also be that there’s another tour happening, going on sale on that date, but I’ve heard no substantial rumours to confirm anything at this stage. Take a look for yourself…

Feel free to speculate on how many drugs Blair took this Xmas!

Co zaatakowało muzyka Tool?

Perkusista amerykańskiej formacji Danny Carey dochodzi do siebie po tajemniczym urazie, jakiego doznał pływając w morzu.

Jak czytamy na oficjalnej stronie Tool, muzyk został zraniony przez "niesforne morskie stworzenie". W serwisie umieszczono także zdjęcie zranionej ręki Carey'a. Rana wygląda paskudnie...

Muzyk przebywał na Hawajach, gdzie - podczas pływania - został zaatakowany przez niezidentyfikowane zwierzę.

Strona Tool podaje, że stworzenie było "niebezpieczne, jadowite i zagrażające życiu".

Fani Tool chyba będą musieli jednak uzbroić się w cierpliwość. Wiele wskazuje na to, że na nowy album ich ulubieńców przyjdzie nam jeszcze długo poczekać.

Zespół swego czasu przekonywał, że tym razem zrezygnuje z tradycyjnej, długiej przerwy między wydawnictwami, ale najwyraźniej obietnicy nie dotrzyma.

- Ja pracuję u siebie, nasz basista, Justin Chancellor u siebie, a Maynard zajmuje się swoimi winami - zdradził gitarzysta Adam Jones. - Musieliśmy od siebie odpocząć, co było całkiem przyjemne.

Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune reports that TOOL and THE KILLERS are expected to fill out the headlining slots for the fifth annual Lollapalooza festival, set to take place August 7-9 at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois. Also scheduled to appear are the BEASTIE BOYS, DEPECHE MODE and JANE'S ADDICTION, plus KINGS OF LEON.

Brad Angle of Guitar World magazine recently conducted an interview with TOOL guitarist Adam Jones. When asked how the songwriting process for the band's new album was coming along, Jones replied, "It's been coming along... great! [laughs] No, we've been on hiatus. I'm writing and [bassist] Justin [Chancellor]'s been writing, but [frontman] Maynard [James Keenan] has been working on his wine. We've all just been taking some time away from each other, which has been nice. I've also been working on producing some comics."

TOOL has been on break from touring and writing since early 2008, following nearly two years of supporting their most recent studio album, 2006's "10,000 Days", which marked its first set of new material since 2001's "Lateralus".

In December, Maynard James Keenan revealed that he had been working with A PERFECT CIRCLE guitarist Billy Howerdel on new material for a possible new release. When asked about releasing the material or touring, he stated, "I doubt if we'll do any touring or, you know, do a full album," he said. "We might do some one-off shows here and there if the timing's right and it seems like a good vibe and a smart thing to do. But most likely we'll just kind of concentrate on, you know, one or two songs at a time, rather than investing all the time and money and effort into making those plastic discs that no one cares about anymore."

Trasa koncertowa Tool
Grupa Tool przerywa milczenie. Na razie zespół planuje przypomnieć o sobie na żywo.
Na oficjalnej stronie kwartetu pojawiła się informacja, o planowanych występach. Dokładne daty i miejsca koncertów są jeszcze negocjowane, wiadomo jednak, że odbędą się one latem. Pierwszy potwierdzony show szykuje się w lipcu, w Denver, w ramach Mile High Festival. Więcej szczegółów dotyczących tournée powinniśmy poznać niebawem.
